The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Deputy Governor of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dubravka Bošnjak, participated in the annual meetings of the World Bank and the IMF held in the Moroccan city Marrakech.
The Bosnian delegation, in addition to Minister Bošnjak, includes the Minister of Transport and Communication of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto, the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Senad Softić, and the Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Muhamed Hasanović.
This year's meeting brings together finance ministers, central bank governors, and senior officials from more than 190 countries.
During her stay in Marrakech, Minister Bošnjak attended the plenary session of the IMF and World Bank, a meeting of the Netherlands-Belgium Constituency to which Bosnia and Herzegovina belongs, and several meetings with senior IMF officials, including Deputy Director Bo Li, European Department Head Alfred Kammer, Executive Director Paul Hilbers, and his deputy, Luc Dresse.
Minister Bošnjak briefed IMF representatives on the agenda of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the necessary reform processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina in line with IMF recommendations and the designated priorities for European Union membership.
The focus of this year's World Bank and IMF meetings is on globally significant issues such as global economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and the effectiveness of support measures. Regional briefings, seminars, and many other events focused on the world economy, international development, and the global financial system have also been organized.
