The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, spoke in Sarajevo with the Head of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sandra Čule. The aim of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry and the Office in the field of youth and education.
At the meeting, numerous topics of common interest were discussed, with special focus on the Superschools programme. It is a regional school exchange programme that is co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and is implemented by RYCO in cooperation with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). The total budget of the project is EUR 5.5 million, and its goal is to support the process of building peace and reconciliation and to encourage intercultural learning and dialogue between schools, students and their communities, and to establish strong and sustainable links between high schools in the region and build long-term partnerships.
Minister Bošnjak emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of young people and providing opportunities for mutual exchange of experiences, learning and understanding in order to build sustainable peace and progress in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
