The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, met today in Sarajevo with the Regional Director of UNESCO for Europe, Magdalena Landry, and the Head of the UNESCO Office in Sarajevo, Siniša Šešum.

This is Director Landry's first official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina since assuming her mandate at the end of last year.

The meeting emphasized the exceptionally good cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and UNESCO and highlighted the importance of joint projects in the fields of culture, science, education, and sports.

A successful project that was particularly highlighted was the presentation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Venice Biennale, where the Museum of Modern Art of the University of Mostar, with the project "The Measure of the Sea" by academic sculptor Stjepan Skoko, attracted significant attention.

The interlocutors also touched upon the nomination of Vjetrenica for the UNESCO World Heritage List and the nomination of Sevdalinka for the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, expressing the expectation that these two assets will receive the status they deserve for their cultural significance in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minister Bošnjak expressed Bosnia and Herzegovina's readiness to continue and deepen cooperation. Regional Director of UNESCO for Europe, Magdalena Landry, thanked for the reception and expressed interest in new joint projects.
