The Bosnia and Herzegovina – Austria Year of Culture is solemnly opened at the National Theatre in Sarajevo, in the presence of Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH, Adil Osmanovic, Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Sebastian Kurz and BiH Foreign Minister Igor Crnadak.
The Minister Osmanovic emphasized on this occasion that the intention is to present contemporary cultural events using rich cultural contents, and contribute, through culture, to a better mutual knowledge and understanding, with the aim of further development of the exceptional bilateral relations of BiH and Austria.
"Culture is the one that has a strong influence and capability to bring people together and send a powerful message in a particular way. Culture knows no borders and builds bridges. Culture is the best Ambassador of a country," Osmanovic said.
The Austrian Minister Sebastian Kurz reminded that approximately 200 000 people originating from this region live in Austria.
Osmanovic and Kurtz signed
an Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the two
countries. Considering the positive experience acquired thanks to the good
bilateral relations in the field of scientific and technological cooperation
between our two countries, this Agreement aims to contribute to additional
intensification of cooperation in the field of science and technology in
accordance with the political, economic and social conditions, especially in
connection with the Bosnia and Herzegovina's path towards European integration.
