A two-day Erasmus+ Info Day is being held in Sarajevo, organized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Erasmus+ office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the BRAVO organization. The event, attended by over a hundred individuals interested in participating in Erasmus+ programmes, provides an opportunity to showcase the possibilities offered by the Erasmus+ programme, as well as to exchange experiences in the fields of education, training, youth, and sports.

In her opening address, Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, emphasized the importance of the Erasmus+ programme. "This program not only provides opportunities for education and training but also serves as a key tool for empowering youth and developing their skills, which is essential for their personal and professional growth. Within the new cycle of the Programme, which runs from 2021 to 2027, we can expect even greater opportunities for our youth and educational institutions," Bošnjak highlighted.

The Minister also reminded attendees of the efforts made by the Ministry of Civil Affairs to facilitate access to the Erasmus+ programme and praised the engagement in European networks such as the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), Eurydice, EPALE, the eTwinning platform, and Youth Wiki.

The European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by Adebayo Babajide, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation, who spoke about the importance of the Erasmus+ programme for European integration. "Erasmus+ is one of the EU programmes that best reflects the fundamental ideals of the European project and serves as a key driver of European integration. Since 1987, Erasmus+ has counted over 15 million participants, and I am proud that more than 8,000 from Bosnia and Herzegovina have taken part in these exchanges," emphasized Babajide.

According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the total value of approved projects for institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina under the latest call from the European Commission for Erasmus+ project proposals amounts to over 8.7 million euros for higher education, more than 4.2 million euros for vocational education and training, and over 2.5 million euros in the field of youth. These projects will be implemented over the next 24 to 36 months, and their results will further contribute to the educational system and social development of the country.

The Erasmus+ Info Day continues with workshops and presentations that provide detailed information about opportunities for participation in this significant European programme.
