FAQ in the geodesy, geology and meteorology sector

Does Bosnia and Herzegovina have signed border agreements with neighboring countries?

Bosnia and Herzegovina has signed the Agreement on the state border with Montenegro, which was ratified by the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina on January 12, 2016.

The Treaty on the State Border with Croatia has not been ratified, but is considered valid, due to the clause in which it is said that the treaty is temporarily applied from the day of signing (Chairman of the BiH Presidency Alija Izetbegović and President of the Republic of Croatia Franjo Tuđman signed the Treaty on the State Border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia on July 30, 1999 in Sarajevo.)

Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia began negotiations on demarcation on April 27, 2001 in Belgrade.

The border was identified and drawn on the TK 25 maps (in a scale of 1:25000). Although the factual situation was determined on the ground and recorded on the maps of TK 25, the actual signing of the Agreement on the State Border did not take place, due to different approaches to the solution of a couple of (smaller) border issues.
