About the Citizenship and Travel Documents Sector

In the Citizenship and Travel Documents Sector, the following activities are carried out:

- preparation and execution of international multilateral and bilateral agreements (international conventions in the field of citizenship and travel documents, agreements on dual citizenship, etc.),

- jobs related to the preparation and execution of laws and by-laws in the field of citizenship and travel documents,

- managing the review procedure of decisions on the naturalization of foreign citizens naturalized between April 6, 1992. and 01.01.2006. year and preparation of appropriate decisions and conclusions, as well as preparation of responses to lawsuits, requests for reconsideration of court decisions and responses to allegations of appeals.

- administrative and other professional tasks related to admission to citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, renunciation of citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, revocation of citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, control of the legality of the procedure of subsequent registration in birth registers, determination and cancellation of JMB for foreigners, etc.

keeping records on the acquisition and termination of citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the Law on Citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina

issuance of official travel documents and official visas

issuance of shipping and maritime booklets of Bosnia and Herzegovina

exercising supervision over the application of regulations from the competence of the Sector

cooperation with the competent authorities of the entity and the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which perform tasks of importance in the field of citizenship and travel documents.
