Presentation of the EU COST Programme Held at the Clinical Center of UNSA

At the invitation of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, Discipline for Science and Teaching, the COST Coordinator for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alma Hasanović, delivered a presentation on the European Cooperation in Science and Technology programme – COST.

The presentation covered topics related to participation rules in the COST programme, nomination procedures for the COST Actions Management Committee, activities funded by COST, and the programme’s overall significance.

COST Actions serve as interdisciplinary platforms for researcher collaboration. Each year, approximately 20% of implemented actions, according to OECD classification, come from the fields of medical and health sciences.

During the discussion, questions were raised regarding opportunities for the health sector offered by the Horizon Europe programme, which allocates over EUR 8 billion in its Health cluster, and the EU4Health programme with a budget of EUR 5.3 billion. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a full member of the COST programme and an associated country in the Horizon and EU4Health programmes.
