Minister Bošnjak Hosted Representatives of the Water Polo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, hosted representatives of the Water Polo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Branimir Butigan.

The meeting focused on the current activities of the Federation and plans for the future, with particular attention given to the upcoming European Championship and the international U16 water polo tournament to be held in Trebinje.

During the meeting, the Federation representatives emphasized that their primary focus is the upcoming European Championship, which will take place in Slovenia in July this year. The Bosnia and Herzegovina national team will compete in Group B, alongside the teams from the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Ukraine, Latvia, and Lithuania. This prestigious event is seen as a significant opportunity to promote water polo and contribute to the development of the sport in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Additionally, the Federation announced that it will organize an international U16 water polo tournament in Trebinje, to be held from 14 to 18 April. This exciting event will feature eight European national teams, further strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina’s position in the international water polo community.

Minister Bošnjak expressed strong support for the initiatives of the Water Polo Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and reiterated her commitment to supporting the development of sports infrastructure in the country.

She emphasized the crucial role of investing in sports facilities for the long-term success and growth of sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Furthermore, she confirmed the Ministry’s dedication to improving sports conditions and consistently supporting all sports organizations.
