Minister Bošnjak and Ambassador Yotov Discuss Cultural Cooperation Programme

The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Valery Ivanov Yotov, to discuss the Cultural Cooperation Programme for the period from 2024 to 2027, which aims to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

Both sides agreed that the programme represents an important step in reinforcing ties and facilitating development in areas such as music, dance, theatre, visual arts, and others.

As highlighted during the meeting, the programme will also encourage mutual invitations between cultural organizations, institutions, and professionals, fostering their participation in international cultural events in both countries.

Additionally, they discussed the potential for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as social welfare, healthcare, sports, and youth development.

The meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the long-standing and friendly relations between the two countries. Minister Bošnjak emphasized that these ties have been exceptionally strong since 1992, when Bulgaria was the first country to recognize Bosnia and Herzegovina as an independent state. This historical gesture laid the foundation for a lasting partnership, which continues to develop today.

Minister Bošnjak and Ambassador Yotov expressed their commitment to the exchange of expertise and best practices, believing it will significantly contribute to improving services and programmes in both countries. They also stressed the importance of expanding cultural cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador Yotov expressed optimism regarding the future of relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria, adding that both countries will continue to build strong and long-term cooperation. Minister Bošnjak reiterated that strengthening these ties will benefit both countries and contribute to regional stability and progress.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to continue dialogue and cooperation, with confidence that the partnership between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria will continue to grow stronger in the future.
