Minister Bošnjak and Governor Selimović Discuss Strengthening Institutional Cooperation in the Context of EU Integration

The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jasmina Selimović, to discuss strengthening institutional cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including financial literacy, educational programmes, and processes related to European integration.

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of PISA testing for Bosnia and Herzegovina as an objective international benchmark of students’ functional knowledge, enabling evidence-based policymaking and comparability with the education systems of other countries.

The two officials exchanged information on how macroeconomic stability and monetary policy, within the competences of the Central Bank, may influence the planning and implementation of public policies in the fields of education, social protection, and the labour market, in which the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina has a coordinating role among different levels of government.

Governor Selimović presented Bosnia and Herzegovina’s progress in the process of accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), which simplifies and standardises cross-border payment transactions and enhances the integration of the domestic financial system with the European Union and regional markets.

The importance of financial literacy as a component of educational policies was also highlighted, as it can contribute to better-informed citizens, improved personal financial management, and a more stable financial environment.

Minister Bošnjak and Governor Selimović assessed that continuous dialogue between institutions is important for improving systemic solutions that contribute to the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, financial stability, and stronger integration with European processes.
