Ministry of Civil Affairs with Athletes with Disabilities: Minister Dubravka Bošnjak Hosts Executive Director of Special Olympics BiH, Kada Delić-Selimović

The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, hosted the prominent athlete and Executive Director of Special Olympics BiH (SOBiH), Kada Delić-Selimović. The purpose of the meeting was the upcoming visit of the European Special Olympics delegation, which will be in Sarajevo from 27 May to 30 May, led by the President of the European Special Olympics, David Evangelista.

During the meeting, Delić-Selimović informed Minister Bošnjak about the planned activities during the visit, with a special focus on the signing of a Declaration on the cooperation between the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH and Special Olympics BiH, scheduled for 28 May.

The aim of this Declaration is to further improve the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities through joint activities in the fields of sports, recreation, healthcare, family programmes, and inclusion in all aspects of society.

Kada Delić-Selimović highlighted the long-standing successful cooperation between Special Olympics BiH and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, which has resulted in significant contributions to the development of sports programmes and the inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

She particularly expressed gratitude to the Ministry for its continued financial support, which enables the implementation of programme activities and the participation of SOBiH athletes in domestic and international competitions.

Minister Bošnjak expressed strong support for the work of Special Olympics BiH, emphasizing that the Ministry of Civil Affairs will continue to actively participate in projects that contribute to the better integration and quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and will continue to strengthen the existing cooperation with SOBiH.
