Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH and the University of Tuzla: Dialogue on Strengthening Cooperation and Participation in EU Programmes

The Assistant Minister for Science and Culture, Suvad Džafić, visited Tuzla, where he held talks with Full Professor and Vice-Rector for Scientific Research at the University of Tuzla, Dr. Nermin Sarajlić, as well as vice-deans for scientific research from the University’s faculties.

During the meeting, a constructive dialogue was initiated on strengthening institutional cooperation and improving the participation of the University of Tuzla in European Union programmes for the financing of scientific research and development projects. Special emphasis was placed on the need for systematic strengthening of the capacities of academic staff in order to enable more active involvement in international projects and competitive EU programmes.

In line with the agreements reached, the organization of a series of workshops was proposed, aimed at strengthening the competencies of teaching and research staff for project preparation and implementation. The focus of the workshops will be on practical experiences, concrete examples of good practice, and the transfer of knowledge from experts who already have experience in the implementation of projects financed through European Union programmes.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH continues to implement activities aimed at strengthening cooperation with higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the goal of improving the scientific research system and increasing the international visibility of domestic universities through active participation in European programmes and initiatives.
