Strengthening Cultural Identity: Minister Bošnjak Held Talks with the President of Matica hrvatska Sarajevo, Ivica Mršo

The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, met with Ivica Mršo, President of Matica hrvatska in Sarajevo, to discuss numerous projects carried out by Matica, as well as opportunities for future cooperation.

In a cordial atmosphere, they discussed topics such as preserving cultural heritage, promoting language and identity, and strengthening the role of culture in society. President Mršo informed Minister Bošnjak about a publishing project launched in 2001, The Edition of Croatian Literature in BiH in 100 Books.

To date, 41 books have been published as part of this edition, and the project continues with the goal of showcasing the rich literary heritage of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

President Mršo emphasized that the project is of vital importance to the Croatian people in BiH, as it highlights, among other things, the development of their language and literary tradition.

He also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH for the financial support provided so far through the Co-financing of Cultural Projects grant, which has enabled the successful implementation of many of Matica hrvatska’s activities.

Minister Bošnjak emphasized the importance of continued support for projects that help preserve cultural identity and foster mutual understanding among the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She stated that the Ministry of Civil Affairs remains open to cooperating with organizations whose work creates lasting value and enriches the country's cultural mosaic.
