Handover of the Donation of Ambulance Vehicles from the Government of the Republic of Korea

A ceremonial handover of ambulance vehicles – a donation from the Government of the Republic of Korea – was held in Banja Luka, implemented with the coordination of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Ministry was represented at the event by Deputy Minister Marijana Mojić, who expressed gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Korea for this significant support to the healthcare system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The ceremony was also attended by entity ministers – the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Republika Srpska, Alen Šeranić, and the Minister of Health of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nediljko Rimac.
The donation was officially presented by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Seungbuhm Lee, who also serves as the non-resident Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A total of seven new, modern, fully equipped ambulance vehicles were allocated to healthcare institutions in both entities. Three vehicles were assigned to the Health Center Istočno Sarajevo, the Health Center “Dr. Mladen Stojanović” Laktaši, and the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska, while four vehicles were delivered to institutions in the Federation of BiH: the Health Center Rama, the County Hospital Orašje, the Health Center Ključ, and the Health Center Foča – Ustikolina. The total value of the donation amounts to EUR 438,970.

This donation represents a continuation of the long-standing and successful cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Korea. In previous years, numerous projects aimed at modernizing and equipping the healthcare sector have been implemented, including loan arrangements for improving hospital capacities, as well as significant support during the COVID-19 pandemic through donations of tests and vaccines.

It is also recalled that in November 2023, the Republic of Korea donated three ambulance vehicles to Gradiška Hospital, the County Hospital “Dr. fra Mihovil Sučić” in Livno, and the Brčko Health Center, with a total value of USD 223,568.
