Bošnjak with Fra Danijel Nikolić, editor of Svjetlo riječi: “Organ donation is an act of humanity and solidarity.”

Dubravka Bošnjak, Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, met with Fra Danijel Nikolić, editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine Svjetlo riječi, to discuss the role of the media in promoting social solidarity, a culture of dialogue, and humanitarian initiatives.

Fra Nikolić presented the decades-long work of the Franciscan Media Center, the publisher of Svjetlo riječi, which has more than 2,000 subscribers, emphasizing that its primary mission is the promotion of a culture of peace, tolerance, and togetherness, as well as the advancement of interreligious dialogue.

Fra Nikolić expressed particular interest in the activities of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH related to raising awareness about the importance of organ donation and transplantation, stressing that this is a topic of exceptional humanitarian and social importance, also supported by the Catholic Church. As a sign of support for this humanitarian initiative, Fra Nikolić signed an organ donor card on this occasion.

Minister Bošnjak thanked him for his openness to cooperation and support for initiatives aimed at strengthening public awareness about organ donation. She emphasized that the development of a culture of organ donation in Bosnia and Herzegovina requires trust, education, institutional cooperation, and the active involvement of all social stakeholders, including the media, healthcare institutions, educational institutions, and religious communities.
