Dubravka Bošnjak, Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Laura Lungarotti, Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Sarajevo to improve healthcare for migrants in temporary reception centres, aiming to enhance access to basic services and protection for vulnerable groups.

By coordinating efforts between various government and local bodies, the Ministry of Civil Affairs is working to establish an effective framework to support migrants, improve migration management, protect migrants, and ensure better access to healthcare, social, and educational services.

As emphasized during the signing, recognizing that the migrant crisis creates additional needs for ensuring the right to social protection, especially for unaccompanied minors and other vulnerable categories of migrants, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH, through the Sector for Labour, Employment, Social Protection, and Pensions, regularly collaborates with relevant authorities and collects information on activities to mitigate the migrant crisis from a social protection perspective.
