A meeting was held in Sarajevo between the Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, and the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jana K. Lolić Šindelkova.

It was noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic have good bilateral relations in all areas. Minister Bošnjak expressed her gratitude for the support that the Czech Republic provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to European integration.

The discussion also focused on cooperation in the healthcare sector, which would be intensified through the exchange of experts, contributing to the strengthening of the capacities of healthcare institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Given Bosnia and Herzegovina’s interest in joining Eurotransplant, experiences from the Czech Republic’s process of fulfilling the conditions for membership in this organization were also discussed.

Other topics of conversation included the Czech Republic’s experiences in utilizing funds within the EU4Health programme, especially since Bosnia and Herzegovina signed an Agreement with the EU in July of this year to join that programme.

Such cooperation would also be desirable for other EU programmes, such as HORIZON EUROPE, Creative Europe, and EaSI.

Minister Bošnjak thanked the Czech Republic for its support in the demining process in Bosnia and Herzegovina. From 2016 to 2024, the Czech Republic funded demining through the International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance (ITF), supporting three projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Gnionica-Vukosavlje, covering 1,286 m²; Busija, 5,976 m²; and Krupa na Uni, 4,657 m².

Cooperation between the two countries in education, culture, science, youth policy, and social security was also discussed.

Jana K. Lolić Šindelkova was appointed Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina in July 2024.
