An exhibition of paintings and jewellery by Adin and Mia Hebib, titled “Vukovarcima s poštovanjem i ljubavlju,” will open on 13 September at the City Museum in Vukovar.

On this project, as well as other cultural initiatives, academic painter Adin Hebib met with the Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak. This is a significant exhibition where the two artists will present their longstanding work.

Minister Bošnjak expressed her support for this project, emphasizing the importance of art and culture for society and their role in connecting people.

Adin Hebib will present a retrospective exhibition (Studija “Akt”, Tvoj i moj grad: “Most”, Bog ne daje križ onome ko ga ne može nositi”, Moj život: “Krošnja”, Buket cvijeća za sve majke svijeta” i “Korona”) painted in bold colours in an expressionist manner. Mia Hebib will showcase a selection of her artistic jewellery, crafted in platinum, gold, silver, and brass (The Brass Band, The Golden Years, The Worn, 13, Pristajem! Elemental), which she has been presenting since 2007 through her own jewellery line, Oblik Atelier.

Adin Hebib (Sarajevo) and Mia Hebib (New York), father and daughter, are Bosnian-Herzegovinian artists of Mostar roots who have built their careers working and exhibiting around the world.

Adin Hebib is the recipient of numerous European awards for graphic design, as well as other professional recognitions. He has held more than 40 solo exhibitions, and his works are displayed around the world, gracing prestigious international galleries.

Adin Hebib's expressionist painting and Mia Hebib's unique minimalist jewellery draw from the European artistic traditions of the 20th century. Beyond their family ties, postmodern trends in contemporary 21st-century art find a shared link in form, gesture, and emotion.

In Adin Hebib's painting, this is expressed through expressionism with vibrant and open colours and bold gestures. In Mia Hebib's jewellery, this is expressed through form and wire drawing in space, sculptural miniatures moving in sinusoids, with clearly defined architectural relationships between positive and negative space.

Adin Hebib is also an honorary member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), and since 2021, Mia Hebib has been exhibiting at The Guggenheim Museum in New York.
